| The name Don Moen
is well-known to many of us who hear and sing his songs of praise
during our community activities. Timeless masterpieces, such as
Thank You Lord, I Will Sing, Give Thanks, God is Good and so many
others were all part of that evening's program. This memorable
event is more than just a concert - it is a joyous celebration of
God's touching grace and love. Prayerful exhortations and
reflections by the artist are interspersed between moving song numbers
giving the aura of a live Praise & Worship celebration. The
excitement was manifest by the participation of the audience in singing
along with their arms raised to the heavens, glorifying God in all His
splendor. The event was opened by Father Halbing's exhortation on the power of God's saving grace. A speech and slide show presentation on the Gawad Kalinga movement was made during the intermission by GK advocate, Dylan Wilks. The show finale was highlighted with an encore of several more popular Don Moen songs by demand of the audience with shouts of 'MORE'! Proceeds from this concert will benefit the Gawad Kalinga (GK) as a fund raising project to help build homes for the poorest of poor in the Philippines. BLD Trenton has always been a forefront participant in the GK mission. The number of BLD Trenton members who came that evening alone is a visible testimony of our commitment to this noble cause. |
